Steak Marinade

Although yak-beef steaks are tender on their own, this marinade adds a savory element. A yak-beef steak should never be grilled past medium. Try medium rare for the best results.

Yields enough for two large, or four medium-sized steaks.

1/2 cup (125 mL) soy sauce
1 teaspoon (5 mL) sugar
1 teaspoon (5 mL) ground ginger
1 teaspoon (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon (15 mL) minced garlic
1 teaspoon (5 mL) olive oil
1 tablespoon (15 mL) red wine vinegar

Mix together and pour over steaks. Let marinate for 4 to 6 hours in fridge.
